Mark Borowiecki (born July 12, 1989, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada), is a Canadian ice hockey player. He is currently a defenceman for Smiths Falls Bears in the Canada CJHL. Borowiecki was drafted 139th overall by the Ottawa Senators at the 2008 NHL Entry Draft making him the first Ottawa native to be drafted by the Senators. Mark was getting ready to go fishing when he got the call saying he got drafted by the Senators, living only 10 minutes from Scotiabank Place Mark still made it in time to meet and greet with the club that chose him. Borowiecki has committed to Clarkson University for the 2008-09 season. Mark was one of three Smiths Falls Bears players selected in the 2008 entry draft, along with Nick Tremblay (Boston Bruins) who will also attend Clarkson in the fall of '08 and Mike Bergin (Dallas Stars)
