Mark B. Newbauer is the founder of Mike the Pike Productions, Inc.(OTC: MIKP), an entertainment company with a focus on feature film development and production as well as graphic novel publishing, through a partnership between Mike the Pike Productions and Spokelane Entertainment called Spokefish. Spokefish's flagship slate includes three books from very different genres including Fantasy, Dark Crime Thriller and mind-bending Sci-Fi. Colucci serves as project manager on the books. Mike the Pike Productions is currently working on their recently optioned, "George R.R. Martin's The Skin Trade", from the author of HBO's upcoming series, 'Game of Thrones'. The company is also in pre-production on a crime thriller starring Fred Williamson among others.
Newbauer graduated from the film and producer’s track at Columbia College, Chicago before writing and producing Dreamkiller, the New York International Film Festival’s ‘Best of the Fest’ winner about Sirhan Sirhan and events leading to the RFK assassination. His executive background includes his work as a wealth manager at a top-tier global wealth management firm.
Newbauer launched Mike the Pike Films in 2002 with his sister, Beth Newbauer, to package and produce motion pictures. His roots in the entertainment industry began as a key player in launching an Online casting company and as a Junior Agent at a talent and literary agency with offices in Los Angeles and NYC.
His experience ranges from work both in front of and behind the camera and he is also a graduate of The Second City training program. In 2009, Mike the Pike Productions, Inc. was formed and it acquired all of the projects done under the MTP films banner in order to fund development for the projects through a publicly traded OTC vehicle. The company has also launched a short films and shoestrings feature division as the early stages of talent development and film library holdings.
Newbauer also recently formed MTP Ventures(OTC: ADCS) with the goal of bringing IP to fruition as revenue generating business. Two of the company's flagship projects include ServeNation, a socially conscious prepaid debit and payroll program, as well as CopSwap, an interactive social media site for sworn officers nationwide with a focus on firearms, gear and uniform auctions among officers. ServeNation recently attached Jasmine Aisha Raja as CEO and Mark's brother, Matt Newbauer, serves as President of CopSwap.
