Marilú López

María Guadalupe López Flores (born February 12, 1964) is a Mexican business and financial executive and data management consultant, known for her work in Mexico and Latin America for the Data Management Association.
Biography
Marilú López was born February 12, 1964 in Los Angeles, California to Mexican parents. Her family moved back to Mexico City when she was 4. She attended high school at , received her Bachelor of Engineering degree in systems engineering from the School of Engineering of UNAM in 1987, and her MBA degree from IPADE in 1998.
López worked for Grupo Financiero Banamex from 1986 to 2019, where she began her work on data management in 2009. At Banamex, she coordinated the creation of their first Data Governance Office and the implementation of a tech platform for Metadata Management and Data Quality Management.
In May 2016, she co-founded DAMA Mexico Chapter, where she served as president until December 2019. She started serving as Regional Coordinator of DAMA International for Latin America in 2019. As of January 2021, López is serving as President's Council Chair. Since joining DAMA, she started giving lectures, courses, conferences and interviews on different aspects of Data Management, Data Governance, and Business Architecture, such as the social and ethical impact of data science development.
In 2020, López began her work as Spanish instructor and Latin America partner for FIT Academy, an online academy on information and technology founded by Antonino Letteriello.
