Marco Cremona

Marco Cremona's art is unique because he has managed to amalgamate the arts of sculpture and painting in much of his production, spread out as it is in various local and foreign private collections. He has, over the years, developed his singular manner of abstraction as the exhibits fully bear out.
Born in 1951, Marco Cremona has been active as an artist for over these past 30 years starting his career under the direct tuition of his father, Emvin Cremona (1919 - 1987), one of the pioneers of modern art in Malta. Subsequently, he proceeded to carve a name for himself following a period of training at the Accademia Pietro Vannucci in Perugia in 1969 and a four-year course (1970 - 1974) at the Slade School of Fine Art (University College) in London.
Cremona, who has exhibited on many occasions both in Malta and other countries, is represented with one of his paintings at the Council of Europe Headquarters in Strasbourg, has received a number of commissions for works in various Maltese Churches, Hotels, Restaurants and also for Public Monuments.

I met Marco Cremona in 1967. I would like to think he remembers me. I was 14 years old and he was my first Maltese boyfriend. We both had vacation homes in Bugibba which then comprised a handful of homes and a monastery! We both intended to have a career in art. I am so glad he, at least, succeeded. [There was no doubt really; I remember his father designed Maltese stamps]I would be grateful if this email could be sent to him. I live in the USA now but long to return to visit Malta soon.
