Marco Cremona's art is unique because he has managed to amalgamate the arts of sculpture and painting in much of his production, spread out as it is in various local and foreign private collections. He has, over the years, developed his singular manner of abstraction as the exhibits fully bear out. Born in 1951, Marco Cremona has been active as an artist for over these past 30 years starting his career under the direct tuition of his father, Emvin Cremona (1919 - 1987), one of the pioneers of modern art in Malta. Subsequently, he proceeded to carve a name for himself following a period of training at the Accademia Pietro Vannucci in Perugia in 1969 and a four-year course (1970 - 1974) at the Slade School of Fine Art (University College) in London. Cremona, who has exhibited on many occasions both in Malta and other countries, is represented with one of his paintings at the Council of Europe Headquarters in Strasbourg, has received a number of commissions for works in various Maltese Churches, Hotels, Restaurants and also for Public Monuments.
