Biography
Marco A. Diaz (born November 17, 1988) is a film director, screen writer, production designer, art director and actor. He had film credit as Production Designer featured in the Cannes Film Festival (2008) for his work on The Grind the second film installment for director John Millea. He has worked on various student films and currently attends Santa Monica College where he is studying Film and Photography. His line of work includes, Feature films, SAG work, Independent Films and Web series. He also worked on features such as 2009 a True Story a web series with similar airing to that of lonelygirl15 show, Not in My Backyard, a film in the Los Angeles Pacific Asian Film Festival, and The Last Appeal a Loyola Marymount University thesis film.
Early Childhood Marco A. Diaz was born in Morelia, Michoacán a state in Mexico. He is the son of Guillermina Arrananga, a single mother who immigrated to the United States in 1989.
He attended high school at the Hawthorne Math and Science Academy becoming part of the first graduating class of 2007 becoming the first class of the newly formed Charter High school. After graduating high school he enrolled in the Santa Monica College as a full time student with a Major in Film Studies and a minor in Photography.
Early Career After Directing his first short film as a high school project, he discovered his passion for film and continued to strive for a career in the film industry. He worked on a couple projects including the Driver's Ed instructional video that is still in use today at HMSA, Curious George's Big Driving Adventure. A 10 minute video showing a monkey using the proper way to prepare before a road trip. In college he was hired as the Set dresser and Property master for the Loyola Marymount thesis film The Last Appeal. Shortly after he was refereed by a acquaintance to take charge of the art department in the SAG ultra low budget film The Grind, which premiered in the Cannes Film Festival on May 9 of 2008. Many projects followed after that including the web series 2009atruestory a set of webisodes following Los Angeles after a terrorist attack and military takeover.
