Manzoor Hussain Parwana was born and raised in Rondu Valley of Baltistan. He acquired his Engineering Degree from NED Engineering University Karachi. He is chairman of Gilgit Baltistan United Movement a pro-independent organization in Gilgit Baltistan. He is also chief editor of Monthly Magazine "Kargil International' (banned). He is a rights activist, analyst and freelance journalist. Manzoor Hussain Parwana was selected as the central President of Baltistan Students Federation in 1999.He played a possitive role during the Kargil Conflict between Pakistan and India . In 2000 ,later the Kargil Conflict he started to publish a magazine to pay tribute to the NLI soldiers who fought in Kargil bravely.The Gilgit Baltistan administration banned the magazine on November 4, 2004 and registered cases against its editor Manzoor Hussain Parwana and publisherOn 4 September 2004 .The monthly magazine Kargil International banned by the Musharaf's regime on criticising President Musharraf’s policies with regard to US-led war on terror, Kashmir and government’s misrule in Gilgit Baltistan. Manzoor Parwana has presented the national question of Gilgit Baltistan on several national and international forums. He visited New Delhi in 2006 to attend the ICM conference.He diverted the attention of Pakistan and India toward the issue of Gilgit Baltistan first time in the slavery history of Gilit Baltistan. He opined " Gilgit-Baltistan - a region of disputed Kashmir has been ignored consistently for the past 58 years. These areas have been suffering continually due to the Kashmir dispute and the battles of Siachen and Kargil were fought over this peaceful region. Yet, its people and their concerns have not been addressed ever by any of these two countries. This area is not developing because of the politics of arms and guns and lack of struggle and both the countries have converted this area into the "Silence Zone" of disputed Kashmir" Party Flag Gilgit Baltistan United Movement
