Manoj Saxena (born February 14, 1965), is a serial entrepreneur, and investor, with interests in innovation, education, and automotive racing. A frequent speaker at industry and business conferences such as TEDx. Career Most of Saxena's entrepreneur ambitions grew out of his time at Birla Institute of Technology and Science (List of BITS alumni) from where he holds a Masters in Management Sciences Degree. and his studies in Strategy and Marketing at Michigan State, East Lansing. He obtained his MBA degree in 1991. Saxena started his business executive career with 3M in 1990. He started his first start-up company, Exterprise in June 1998 as the co-founder, president and CEO. Exterprise was acquired by Commerce One (an e-marketplace public company) in March 2001 for $114 million adding to its suite of leading e-marketplace applications. At the emergence of a new technology called Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Saxena started his second start-up technology company Webify Solutions in April 2002 as an extension of the work and vision he was pursuing at Exterprise prior to the acquisition.. In early 2006, Webify announced a strategic partnership with IBM. IBM Corp. (NYSE: IBM) bought Austin-based software maker Webify Solutions Inc. in August 2006. Webify was integrated into IBM's software group under its WebSphere brand and was made available through IBM Global Services offerings ". Saxena is currently the General Manager for IBM Watson Solutions - announced on March 2011. In this capacity, he responsible for the commercialization efforts of IBM’s technology globally.
