The Canadian Association of Management Consultants also known as CMC-Canada is the advocacy and certifying body for professional and certified consultants in Canada. A CMC designationis acknowledged as the gold standard for professional qualifications in the industry.
CMC-Canada is organized into provincial institutes that manage the affairs of the group in each region. The Provincial institute in British Columbia has organized the first in a series of professional development events aimed at building awareness of the CMC designation and also providing a venue for the latest trends so consultants can learn and grow professionally.

The conference is held over two days and highlights value to consultants within their own practices but also value to clients. The management conference schedule includes speakers on project management, leadership, building web presence and even "how to play".

There is a post-conference management consulting workshop called the Consulting Assignment Solution Framework which builds on the "CMC Essntials of Management Consulting" method of approaching assignments. The workshop is a hands-on opportunity to review and enhance skills in approaching a consulting assignment and develop new consulting tools and techniques. Beginning with a review of the consulting process, this workshop will provides a detailed checklist of activities for each stage in a client assignment - from Entry through to Termination. Then, using a case study, attendees will work through the Solution Framework tool. The post-conference workshop is $325.00 for conference attendees and $395.00 on its own.
The American Institute runs its own conference, called Confab. This conference focuses on the growing business for consultants and how to be a consultant. The Canadian version focuses more on thought leadership and bringing value to client engagements as a consulting expert.
