EPM Live

EPM Live is a provider of project management software and Enterprise Project Management solutions based on the Microsoft SharePoint platform.
History
The EPM Live platform started out as a product to fill the middle market gap that existed between out of the box SharePoint deployments for small workgroups/teams and large Fortune 500 enterprise deployments of Project Server & MOSS. The design and technology for the EPM Live platform was born from the combined experiences of LMR Solutions consultants working on client deployments of project management solutions going all the way back to the company’s inception in 1999. EPM Live’s founder, Joe Larscheid, recognized this need and in 2004, along with several partners and developers from LMR Solutions, started building software products & SharePoint applications solutions that allowed companies to have hosted customized Business Productivity solutions without having to invest in a full in-house MOSS implementation. The most popular of these components was Project Publisher, a Microsoft Office Project add-in that provided the integration and synchronization between Microsoft Office Project and Microsoft Sharepoint. As the client roster increased, some clients requested the ability to install & run EPM Live components such as custom web parts on their onsite project management solutions. This demand gave rise to the creation of the EPM Live Toolkit in 2007.
As the product evolved and as the customer feedback came in, the company’s development team has continued to evolve EPM Live to provide the right level of Business Productivity that its clients needed - application templates include but not limited to; SharePoint Project Management, SharePoint Account Management, SharePoint Application Management, SharePoint Software Management, SharePoint Product Management, SharePoint Event Management, SharePoint Brand Management, SharePoint Operational Management and more. The development team also designed the EPM Live platform to support many methodologies including PMBOK, PRINCE2, and Scrum.
In October 2008, version 2 of the EPM Live platform was released. The release included a more comprehensive feature set (see Technology) and an onsite version of the platform - which evolved from the EPM Live Toolkit - was made available.
