Majority Plus was a Merseybeat band that was primarily active in the 1960's. The group was originally formed in Huyton, Liverpool, United Kingdom. They most famously performed in the original Cavern club in Liverpool, and were honoured with a prestigious brick on Matthew Street, Liverpool. History Taking inspiration from their contemporaries in The Beatles, and the wider Merseybeat movement, a group of friends decided to form their own band. Colin Fitzgibbon was made the lead vocalist & Keyboards, Frederick Allan Attwood would act as vocalist and play Rhythm Guitar, John would be harmony and on Lead Guitar, Aaron was Bass player, and finally Les became the Drummer. The original name of the group The Majority, though after performing at a local youth center one night, when we were mobbed by screaming fans. This turned out to be due to a misunderstanding, over another band of the same name, as the music magazine the Melody Maker, carried a half page write up about The Majority with their latest release I'm a Man. The name was quickly rectified and the band became known as Majority Plus. The group performed in several venues, namely youth clubs, bars, pubs, including the famous Cavern Club in Liverpool, like their contemporary peers The Beatles.
