East of innocence

East of Innocence (EOI) is an American harmony pop band known for strong vocal harmonies and diverse writing styles. Marcy and Jennifer met while singing karaoke at a local dive bar in 2002. Jennifer moved to San Francisco but returned in early 2004, shortly before the duo debuted their first live performance.

History
EOI recorded a short original demo CD in 2002 and their first full length record (“Walking In Your World”) in 2004. East of Innocence first began performing in coffee shops around the Twin Cities, where they received coffee beans in lieu of payment from the small venues. In 2005 EOI was nominated for Band of the Year in the City Pages by Ginko’s in St. Paul. They gradually moved up to wine houses, bars and local festivals. Their latest album (“unGlued”) was released in November of 2008.

The band traditionally performed as an acoustic two piece group. Marcy on keyboard with Jennifer playing acoustic guitar, toggling lead and back-up vocals. Though each has a uniquely distinct voice the audience found it difficult to determine who was singing which part. Their strong harmonies were the foundation to their fan base, and remain the driving force behind their collective music.

Their latest CD, unGlued, is East of Innocence’s first recording with a full band. It featured Jeff Fystrom and Corey Birkholz on lead guitar, Nathan Brooks with acoustic leads, Tony Chesnut on drums, and Sean McCool on bass.

Currently the band has added Jeff Fystrom full time as lead guitarist, with Sean McCool and Scotty Albrect (drums) playing at larger venues.
