Mahi de Silva

Mahi de Silva is a technologist, serial entrepreneur, advisor and investor in technology. He is currently CEO and co-founder of marketing-tech company Amplify.ai an artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing company that aims to help businesses interact with their customers via AI-powered chatbots.
Early life and career
De Silva was born in Sri Lanka, before his family moved to Wichita, Kansas, where he grew up.
In 1988, de Silva moved to Silicon Valley, where he worked at Apple in the “Pink” system software group from 1989 to 1996 with the title pointillist from 1989 to 1996.
After Apple, de Silva became part of the startup team at VeriSign, where he served in many roles including Vice President (VP) - Engineering and the General Manager (GM) of the Wireless business.
After his time at VeriSign, de Silva served as CEO of Frengo Corporation from 2006 to 2008 before co-founding AdMarvel Inc., a company aimed at improving the efficiency of the mobile advertising marketplace.
AdMarvel was purchased by Opera in 2010, after which de Silva served as Executive Vice President of Consumer Mobile for Opera Software ASA from 2011 to 2013 and as CEO of Opera Mediaworks from 2013 to 2016.
After a brief stint as a strategic advisor for Opera Software ASA, de Silva went on to co-found Amplify.ai (formerly known as Botworx), where he currently serves as CEO.
Since 2010, de Silva has also served as Chairman of the Board at Noventis, Inc., which develops solutions to challenges in bill payments.
Since 2016, de Silva has also served on the Board at Nanotech Energy Inc, and since 2017 at SuperMetalix Inc., and at Hydrophilix, Inc.
In 2013, de Silva was named number #12 on a list of the 29 most important people in mobile advertising.
