MacInsiders is a student-run, online community for students at McMaster University and winner of the MSU Club Of Year award for 2007-2008. It is a recognized and funded club of the McMaster Students Union. The club aims to motivate, inspire, and promote extra-curricular involvement and student leadership through its online initatives and events on campus throughout the school year. The user community on the site consists of over 3000 members, as well as a writing team, who share advice and tips on a variety of topics from news and events to ways to get involved on campus. The site includes an array of articles, videos, and discussion forums. Most areas of the website are open to guests, but they do have member-only features. Creating an account is free.
Since it's launch in January 2007, it has become a popular destination for current, as well as prospective students to read about student life at McMaster. Video interviews of major student life services are available on the website, including CFMU, Quarters, SOCS (Society for Off-Campus Students), the Maroons, and more.
The website for the club can be found by visiting http://www.macinsiders.com
