Lynne Ferrario

Lynne Ferrario is a former principal and a member of the Millbrae Elementary School District Board. She currently resides in Millbrae, California, a suburb of San Francisco.
Ferrario led Lomita Park Elementary School to national recognition as Principal following a historic rise in student test scores, increasing nearly 100 points in 2009 following several years of increasing engagement and program funding for initiatives designed to accelerate academic achievement among a diverse child, parent, and teacher population.
Professional background
In 2006, Ferrario was appointed Principal of Lomita Park Elementary School in Millbrae, California.  She led one of the most socio-economically diverse school communities in California at the time, where over 50% of the population was English language learners and nearly 60% of the population was on free/reduced lunch programs.  Under her leadership, the school became of model of academic achievement, with API test scores rising over 100 points and well above comparable schools from a demographic perspective. Lomita Park Elementary was recognized as a California Distinguished School in 2011 and a Title I Academic Achievement Award Recipient in 2012.
In 2012, Ferrario was appointed to the Millbrae Board of Education, where her expertise in elementary education has been a model for community engagement. She was re-elected to the Board of Education in 2018 and will serve as President in 2019.
