Ms. Frederick was born Meredith Lynn Rorie on May 25th, 1969 in Monroe, North Carolina. She began her career in the medical field at the age of nineteen working at a local hospital as a secretary. She married fresh out of high school. With the marriage only lasting two years, she moved to Florida to pursue a career in travel. She returned to North Carolina after only 14 months. Once she returned to North Carolina she returned to the medical field working as a certified nursing assistant under the direction of Margaret Hunter. Ms. Frederick is said to credit her respect for nursing to Mrs. Hunter after watching her give the best of care to patient's she took care of. Ms. Frederick continued to work as a certified nursing assistant while attending school to become a certified medical assistant. In 1996 she had her first child and went back to work at a local hospital on a pediatric unit. She continued to pursue her nursing career by returning to college to obtain her LPN. Once her practical nursing education was completed, she worked for a few years before beginning her degree in nursing. Ms. Frederick applied for acceptance into to Excelsior University out of Albany, New York. Once she was accepted she tested out of all the required theory exams and became qualified for the school's clinical examination. The clinical weekend, also known as the CPNE, is a very difficult three day clinical test. It is not to be confused with a clinical teaching weekend. The success rate for the program and completing the CPNE is very low. Ms. Frederick completed the CPNE and passed upon her first try. Realizing how difficult this test is, she saw a need to try to help other students complete and be successful on this difficult exam. She started a company named CPNE Solutions, but later changed the name due to the college trademark of the term CPNE the following year. She renamed the company Clinical Prep Exam. She is now traveling the United States teaching students how to prepare for this clinical weekend and how to improve their clinical and critical thinking skills for their future as RN's. The student success rate for her program is 94% after over four years in business. Ms. Frederick is known to be a very kind and loving person. Students give her much of the credit for their success during the clinical weekend. She offers many products and teaching aides for students to work with in their areas of weakness. It is said that she runs the best preparation course for the required Excelsior clinical weekend across the nation. Ms. Frederick is continuing to teach the workshops while she works for a local hospital. She has two children and is unmarried. She is considered a valuable asset to the student's of Excelsior and a credit to her field.
