(Rebecca) Lyle Skains is an American author, photographer, and Senior Lecturer in Writing (Prose) at Bangor University. Biography Skains received a BS in Animal Science from Texas A&M University in 1998 and a BA in Creative Writing from University of New Mexico in 2001. After receiving a Master's in Professional Writing from University of Southern California in 2005, Skains completed her PhD, entitled Practice-led creative writing research into multimodal digital narratives and supervised by Astrid Ensslin, in 2013 at Bangor University. Since 2011, she has been Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing and Digital Media at Bangor and she currently serves as coordinator of the Professional Writing programs and Director of Teaching and Learning for the School of Music & Media. Skains is a member of the European Narratology Network, the Electronic Literature Organization, the Media, Communications, and Cultural Studies Association (MeCCSA), the International Society for the Empirical Study of Literature (IGEL), and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.<ref name=":0" /> She is also the founder of Wonderbox Publishing.
