Luis Baez Castellón (born January 1, 1967 in Managua), Nicaragua is an announcer, actor, television presenter, radio personality, and comedian. He is best known for the his television show on the Nicaraguan Channel Vos TV ¡Que Bárbaro!. Life and Career Luis Baez was born to Luis Baez and Blanca Castellón, a celebrated Nicaraguan poet. He attended the American Nicaraguan School (ANS) in Managua, where his outgoing personality and school spirit did not go unnoticed, which was the reason why he was often chosen to play host at pep rallies and school events. Baez graduated ANS in 1998, and left to study to University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. Baez returned to Nicaragua in and began working for a local channel VOS TV, owned by Nicaraguan millionaire Carlos Pellas Chamorro where he began his own late night talk show, the first of its kind in the country. He later expanded into radio, where he co-hosts a daily music show with Valeria Sanchez Hurtado. In 2012, along with other local Nicaraguan celebrities, in an effort to help raise funds for the Nicaraguan handicapped youth, Luis participated in a celebrity dance-off alongside his dance partner Ninoska Cantillano, event in which they help raise more than 22 million Cordobas. Personal Life Luis married his high school friend Valeria Cortez, together they have one son. He also has two younger brothers, Carlos and Javier.
