Luego

Luego was formed in March 2007 by Patrick Phelan while a senior at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Luego is a rock band influenced by Bob Dylan, The Beatles, and Wilco.
Luego went through several sonic and personnel changes in the coming year and a half. They went from a rock setup with a violin and viola, lost the violin and replaced with a cello, and then the viola player left the group.
2/3 through a blistering 80 show summer tour in 2008, Phelan fired his cellist and bassist and did another 20 shows with his drummer, before his drummer resigned to take up the guitar.
Exhausted, Phelan went to Jeff Crawford (Roman Candle, Arbor Ridge Studios) to make a solo record. Around that time, Peter Holsapple (REM, the dBs, Hootie and the Blowfish) responded to a craigslist ad for a multi-instrumentalist. Before long, Nick Jaeger, a longtime bandmate and friend of Crawford, joined on lead guitar. Dimauro joined on the drums.
Under the able direction of Phelan, Luego moved toward a more classic rock and roll sound.
Currently the band is recording an LP, “Taped together Stories,” at Jeff Crawford’s Arbor Ridge Studios. With tracking almost finished, expect it in stores near you in early Spring 2009.
