Lucia Laura Sangenito

Lucia Laura Sangenito (born 22 November 1910) is an Italian supercentenarian who has been the oldest living person in Italy since the death of Claudia Baccarini on 24 December 2024.
Biography
On 22 November 1910, Lucia Laura Sangenito-Abbondandolo was born in Sturno, Campania, Italy. She has lived there her entire life. As a young woman, she worked in the fields. She got married on 2 February 1939 and had four children; two of them died as infants, and the other two are still living: her daughter Maria and son Michele. Her interests are football, politics, and watching religious programs on TV. She celebrated her 110th birthday in November 2020 quietly due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On her 112th birthday, she was the oldest known living person in Campania, and the third-oldest validated living person in Italy, behind Domenica Ercolani-Cristoforo and Claudia Baccarini-Baldi. On 1 June 2024 she was visted by Longeviquest one of the top age validation organizations who gave her a certificate recognizing her for being (at the time) the 2nd oldest living person in Italy. She is the oldest person ever from the Campania region of Italy.<ref name"Repubblica"/><ref name"109 Avellino" />
