Lorna Tan

Lorna Tan is the Invest editor and Senior correspondent at The Straits Times. She helms the Invest section of The Sunday Times which covers personal finance issues. She has been with The Straits Times for more than 12 years. She first joined The Straits Times in 2000.
Lorna has won numerous accolades and awards for excellence in business reporting. In 2007, she won the Financial Journalist of the Year award given by the Securities Investors Association of Singapore. This was her third award from the association, having won the Financial Story of the Year award in 2005 and a Special Award in 2003.
In 2006, she was the runner-up in the Excellence in Public Journalism category in a contest organised by Hong Kong-based Society of Publishers in Asia. In 2004, Lorna also won an award from Society of Publishers in Asia for excellence in business reporting. In 2010, she was recognised by the Financial Planning Association of Singapore for promoting financial literacy and raising awareness of industry developments. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Social Sciences) and an MBA.
Lorna is author of two personal finance books, Talk Money and More Talk Money.
In 2011, she left the newsroom to become Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications at CapitaLand Limited for four years. She returned to Singapore Press Holdings in June 2015.
