Lord Shadek of Ostrava (1468-1526) was a Czech lord of Ostrava, now one of the eastern areas of the Czech Republic. He was born to his father, the former Lord Shadek and his concubine, a Slovak fugitive accused of the crime of helping a gambler cheat in a high stakes game against a Slovak Prince. His parents died when he was young and he was forced into a position of power early in his life. Around the 1470s his sister tried to commit an uprising after sleeping with a nearby lord. After she was captured Lord Shadek sentenced her to death by having both her eyes poked out and having her thrown into a room full of deaf and retarded people. He served many years as Lord of Ostrava until he made the final desicion to commit his warriors to the Battle of Mohács where the were butchered by the Ottoman forces
