London Buses route 187

London Buses route 187 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, United Kingdom. The service is currently contracted to First Centrewest.
History
Route 187 was launched in 1940 as a route between South Harrow and Hampstead Heath via Sudbury, Alperton, Park Royal, Harlesden, West Kilburn, Maida Vale and Swiss Cottage. In 1965 the route was withdrawn between Hampstead Heath and West Kilburn, replaced by route 187A. When route 187A was withdrawn in 1970, route 187 was extended back to Hampstead Heath; but this section was again withdrawn and replaced by route 46 in 1982. In 2000 route 187 was extended via route 46 to Swiss Cottage and route 82 to the new O2 Centre on Finchley Road.<ref name="Bus Page" />
Due to management problems London Traveller was renamed Metropolitan Omnibus in 2000, taken over by Thorpes in late 2001. Routes 187 and 487 were operated from Thorpes' Perivale garage using a mixture of London Traveller's Volvo B6BLEs, Darts from routes 70, 210 and 316 and some double-decks.
But Thorpe's also had problems managing these two routes and surrendered them early 2004. First Centrewest won the contracts for the two routes and operate route 187 from the new Willesden Junction garage using Marshall Capital bodied Dennis Dart SLFs.<ref name="Bus Page" />
In April 2009, the 187 started to use brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro200 Dart single-deckers.<ref name="Bus Routes" />
