List of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED mobile weapons
|
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED is the sixth incarnation of the Gundam media franchise and features several mobile weapons. Designed by Kunio Okawara, who designed the mobile suits for the original Mobile Suit Gundam, and Kimitoshi Yamane, the variety of the mechanical designed, along with the character designs, are attributed as as the reason for the series popularity. Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Protagonists Strike Of the five G Project mobile suits, the GAT-X105 Strike is the only one not stolen by ZAFT during its attack on the Heliopolis colony, where the Strike and its companion units were being developed in secret by the Orb Union's Morgenroete corporation. The Strike's first pilot was future captain Murrue Ramius, who used it to little effect against a GINN piloted by Miguel Aiman; at the time, the suit's operating system was incomplete. A young coordinator named Kira Yamato, who had tagged along with Murrue, was able to modify the Strike's OS and make it combat-ready; after the destruction of Heliopolis, Kira became the Strike's default pilot, enlisting in the Earth Alliance and joining the crew of the Archangel as a result. In Kira's hands, the Strike acquitted itself in combat against the stolen G Project suits and their pilots, who all belonged to ZAFT's elite Le Creuset team; Duel pilot Yzak Joule nursed a grudge against Kira for quite some time due to injuries he sustained in a battle with the Strike, during which the Strike stabbed the Duel's torso with its "Armor Schneider" knife and scarred Yzak's face. When the Archangel rendezvoused with the Alliance's 8th Fleet, Rear Admiral Lewis Halberton ordered the ship to deliver the Strike to the Alliance's military HQ at . Both units wound up in North Africa instead, where Kira and the Archangel ' s crew assisted Cagalli Yula Athha and the Desert Dawn resistance against ZAFT commander Andrew Waltfeld; Kira would ultimately use the Strike to destroy Andrew's TMF/A-803 LaGOWE mobile suit in open combat. (As an aside, Archangel crewman Sai Argyle would briefly attempt to pilot the Strike while the Archangel was still in North Africa, with no success.) When the Archangel arrived in the Orb Union, thanks largely in part to Kira using the Strike to combat a ZAFT submarine fleet (the suit was found to be somewhat deficient in underwater combat), the Strike was studied in detail by Morgenroete engineer Erica Simmons; the data collected by Morgenroete would go towards various future endeavors by that company. After departing from Orb, Kira and the Strike found themselves once more in combat against the Le Creuset team and their Gundams; in the battle that followed, the Strike was nearly destroyed after Aegis pilot Athrun Zala self-destructed his mobile suit in retaliation for the death of Blitz pilot Nicol Amalfi. Orb salvaged the remains of the Strike and rebuilt the mobile suit, and after Kira's theft of the and the defection of the Archangel to the Orb Union after Operation Spitbreak, the Strike was passed on to former FX-550 Skygrasper pilot Mu La Flaga. The Strike was also re-configured with a new Operating System to allow normal humans to pilot mobile suits, similar to Orb Union's mass produced M1 Astray (based upon three prototype Gundam Astray units). Mu would not display as much success piloting the Strike as Kira did, however. Mu piloted the Strike during the Battle of Orb, the suit sustained moderate damage in combat against Rau Le Creuset's ZGMF-600 GuAIZ at the Battle of Mendel. The Strike's final combat deployment was at the Second Battle of Jachin Due; during the battle, Mu sacrificed himself and the Strike to save the Archangel from a positron cannon blast from the Earth Alliance assault ship Dominion. Though the Strike itself was completely annihilated, Mu inexplicably survived the ordeal, as would be revealed during the later parts of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny. Moebius The TS-MA2 Moebius is the standard space-based fighter of the Earth Alliance during the first Bloody Valentine War. Its standard armament is four missiles and two 40mm autocannons, with an optional position for a linear gun, beam cannon or a single nuclear missile in place of the four standard missiles. It was used to destroy Junius 7 in the infamous "Bloody Valentine Incident", but became obsolete early in the First Bloody Valentine War and was heavily outclassed by ZAFT mobile suits. It was used until June CE 71, when it was replaced by the Strike Dagger. The TS-MA2mod.00 Moebius Zero is a prototype of the Moebius mobile armors used by the Earth Alliance, featuring a linear gun and four gunbarrels which could be detached from the body of the unit and guided by cables. Although the additional gunbarrels allowed the pilot of the Moebius Zero to overwhelm opponents with a simultaneous multi-directional attack, they proved to be too difficult for most pilots to handle, and the design was pared down for the production model. Only a limited number of units using the prototype design saw action, piloted by an elite squadron of Earth Alliance lieutenants. Of these, the only one to survive combat was Mu La Flaga, who brought the last Moebius Zero unit with him to what would become the Three Ships Alliance when he joined the crew of the Archangel. It was retired after the Archangel landed on Earth, as Mu switched to a Skygrasper, due to Moebius Zero's wire-guided gunbarrels being unable to operate in Earth's atmosphere. It would also spawn a Striker pack variant known as the AQM/E-X04 Gunbarrel Striker a unit which also functioned as a Striker pack for the Dagger and Strike. Skygrasper The FX-550 Skygrasper is an atmospheric support mobile armour of the Earth Alliance for use in conjunction with the Strike. It is armed with a turret-mounted beam cannon, two heavy machine guns, four light machine guns, and two missile launch bays, making it a very capable air superiority fighter in its own right. Its main role, however, is to deliver new Striker Packs to the Strike in battle, removing the need to return to the hangar for re-equipping. In addition, the Skygrasper itself can use many of the weapons and equipment on the Striker Packs, such as the Aile Striker's thrusters, the Sword Striker's "Schwert Gewehr" anti-ship sword, and the Launcher Striker's "Agni" beam cannon. The Skygrasper's cockpit has accommodations for a pilot and a navigator. The Earth Alliance assault ship Archangel, is assigned two Skygraspers when it rendezvoused with the 8th Fleet. After the Archangel descended to Earth, mobile armor ace Mu La Flaga begins piloting Skygrasper Unit 1, as his TS-MA2mod.00 Moebius Zero is incapable of atmospheric flight. Mu favors mounting the Launcher Striker on his Skygrasper, for its superior firepower. Skygrasper Unit 2 is initially piloted by Cagalli Yula Athha, and later by Tolle Koenig. As the Launcher Striker is usually taken by Skygrasper Unit 1 and the Aile Striker by the Strike, Unit 2 is typically equipped with the Sword Striker by default. Perhaps because of this, Unit 2 earned a reputation as an unlucky aircraft; it is shot down or forced into an emergency landing every time it is deployed but once. While Cagalli came out of these crashes unharmed, Tolle is killed when the Aegis piloted by Athrun Zala throws his shield into Unit 2's cockpit. It is unknown how many other Skygrasper units were built, but at least one is owned and operated by freelance mercenary Kaite Madigan. While it lacks the white cross emblem used by Madigan on his mobile suits, it is nonetheless easily distinguishable from the standard Skygraspers, since Kaite Madigan's Skygrasper is grey and black instead of the standard white and blue. The remaining Skygrasper unit on the Archangel is used by Neo Roanoke to defend the Archangel at the Second Battle of Orb. Freedom The ZGMF-X10A Freedom is built during Bloody Valentine War as top-secret prototype mobile suit which ZAFT has developed using technology from the Earth Alliance's captured Gundams. Equipped with a Neutron Jammer Canceller and powered by a nuclear engine, which provides an effectively unlimited energy supply for its Phase Shift Armor and its battery of powerful weapons. the Freedom is stolen by Kira Yamato, with the aid of Lacus Clyne. Kira rushes to Earth with the stolen suit and came to the rescue of the Archangel at the Battle of JOSH-A in episode 35. Along with the Archangel, he defects to neutral Orb and fights alongside his old friend Athrun Zala. Later, he returns to space along with the and Orb battleship Kusanagi. Freedom met support vessel Eternal, which had been stolen from ZAFT by Lacus Clyne and her supporters, led by former ZAFT commander Andrew Waltfeld. Freedom helped Eternal escaping from attacking force sent from Boaz by ZAFT to retrieve Eternal. The attacking force, consists of 50 GINN and CGUE, were largely disabled by Freedom. Later Eternal joins the Archangel and Kusanagi at Mendel, forming the Three Ships Alliance. The following battle in Mendel, Freedom fights another numerical disadvantage tough and long battle such as battling Calamity and Raider. Freedom battles Rau Le Creuset's GuAIZ and able to heavily damage the GuAIZ. Freedom was damaged heavily by Raider and Forbidden, during attempt to rescue Flay Allster. However, Freedom was able to survive this long battle and even gave some degree of damages to its enemies, partly due to occasional Justice's various helps. Eternal also carries two METEOR units with her. In early part of final battle "Second Battle of Jachin Due",shown in episode 47 and 48, Justice and Freedom use these METEORs' firepower to thwart an Earth Alliance nuclear missile attack to PLANT. In later part of "Second Battle of Jachin Due", Freedom fights ZAFT and EA forces. In episode 50, Kira also battles against Rau Le Creuset, who was responsible for the escalation of hostilities of ZAFT and Earth Alliance, and his powerful ZGMF-X13A Providence. Despite the Freedom being severely damaged, Kira managed to impale Rau's cockpit with combined beam sabers. The "Second Battle of Jachin Due" ended shortly afterward. After the Battle at Jachin Due, the Freedom is repaired and hidden in a secret underground base in Orb, where it remains for more than a year. It returns to action in December CE 73 after an assassination attempt against Lacus Clyne. Kira launches in Freedom and manages to defeat the assassins' UMF/SSO-3 ASH mobile suits. Later on, the Freedom was used by Kira in two failed attempts to stop the battling between Orb and ZAFT forces. It also destroyed the GFAS-X1 Destroy in Berlin, killing Stella Loussier. Shortly thereafter, Freedom was destroyed by the Impulse, piloted by Shinn Asuka, during a ZAFT attack against the . Kira shuts down Freedom's nuclear reactor before losing consciousness, and is rescued by the MBF-02 Strike Rouge, piloted by his sister Cagalli Yula Athha. Justice ZGMF-X09A Justice Strike Rouge MBF-02 Strike Rouge Antagonists GINN The ZGMF-1017 GINN is the first mass produced mobile suit by ZAFT as the response from the ZAFT towards the assault from the Earth Alliance during the Bloody Valentine War. The basic version sports a heavy sword and a projectile-based automatic cannon, but other weapons can be mounted. While gradually being replaced by the GuAIZ late in the war, the abundance of these units mean that many of these fall into the hands of mercenaries, Junk Guild technicians and even wealthy civilians. The ZGMF-515 CGUE, an upgraded version of the GINN, used by unit commanders, such as ace pilot Rau Le Creuset. *YFX-200 CGUE DEEP Arms - After four EA G-units were captured by ZAFT, some of their technology was incorporated into several heavily modified ZGMF-515 CGUE units into several new CGUE Directional Energy Emission Experimental Arms (DEEP Arms) mobile suits; armed with two heavy beam cannons and a physical beam sword. One was piloted by Shiho Hahnenfuss until the Second Battle of Jachin Due. Duel The GAT-X102 Duel is a general-purpose mobile suit, the first of the GAT-X series. Stolen by ZAFT. Gets upgraded with body armor, called the "Assault Shroud", after being cut down in its third battle with the Strike. The Assault Shroud was destroyed by the Forbidden, but the unharmed Duel went on to destroy the Forbidden. Soon after Duel also destroyed the Raider with Buster's Gun Launcher. Piloted by Yzak Joule. Buster The GAT-X103 Buster is a long-range artillery mobile suit, equipped with Gun Launcher and High-Energy Beam Rifle that can be combined together to form either Hyper Impulse Long-Range Beam Sniper Rifle or Anti-Armor Shotgun. Stolen by ZAFT, later recovered by the Archangel crew. Providence Gundam leaves Buster nearly destroyed. Piloted by Dearka Elsman. Blitz The GAT-X207 Blitz uses the Mirage Colloid for stealth capabilities. Armed with a "Trikeros" shield, which mounts a beam rifle, beam saber, and three "lancer dart" kinetic energy penetrators. Stolen by ZAFT, later destroyed by the Strike. Piloted by Nicol Amalfi. Aegis The GAT-X303 Aegis is a transformable mobile suit-mobile armor hybrid, can transform into mobile armor mode. It is equipped with a devastating "Scylla" beam cannon, along with a hand-carried beam rifle and four beam sabers built into its limbs. Stolen by ZAFT and later self-destructed to destroy the Strike. Piloted by Athrun Zala. Calamity The GAT-X131 Calamity is an artillery prototype mobile suit, carries a heavy weapon loadout, with 2 beam cannons on the shoulders, 2 on the shield, and a high energy beam cannon in the chest, as well as a powerful plasma sabot bazooka. Calamity is destroyed by Justice equipped with its METEOR. Its "living CPU" pilot is Orga Sabnak. *GAT-X133 Sword Calamity - Close combat version of Calamity, mounts two anti-ship swords instead of the backpack cannons, its shoulders have additional thrusters and mount two beam boomberangs, and it has two rocket anchors. It retains its chest mounted beam cannon, but it is 30% weaker than that of Calamity. Three units were built, piloted by famed aces and Rena "Sakura Burst" Imelia, and "Combat Coordinator" Four Socius. Forbidden The GAT-X252 Forbidden is a close-combat prototype mobile suit, carries a powerful scythe and two movable shields which utilize "Geshmedig Panzer" beam deflection system uses Mirage Colloid to deflect incoming beams. It is also heavily armed, with two CIWS, two machine cannons, two rail guns and a plasma induction cannon which it uses at all ranges with a controllable arcing beam; Destroyed by the GAT-X102 Duel. Piloted by Shani Andras. *GAT-X255 Forbidden Blue - Underwater combat prototype derived from the Forbidden. Armed with a phonon maser cannon and supercativating torpedoes. At least three units were built, one piloted by "White Whale" Jane Houston. These units rely on Geshmedig Panzer beam deflection system to keep the Gundam intact; however it the power were cut off the unit would implode under the immense pressure. This problem is corrected in the official mass production units GAT-706S Deep Forbidden and GAT-707E Forbidden Vortex. Raider The GAT-X370 Raider is a transformable mobile suit-mobile armor hybrid, can transform into a high-speed fighter. It carries considerable weaponry, and can act as a subflight unit for the heavy, groundbound Calamity. Destroyed by Duel Gundam (later retconed to being destroyed by the Buster Gundam). Piloted by Clotho Buer. GuAIZ *YFX-600R GuAIZ Experimental Firearms Type - Some ZGMF-600 GuAIZ units were refitted to test several weapons that were used by ZGMF-X10A Freedom (railguns and beam rifle), and ZGMF-X09A Justice (subflight lifter and beam rifle). At least one unit was used in combat by ZAFT at Second Battle of Jachin Due, but current fate is unknown. **ZGMF-600 GuAIZ - The successor to the GINN series. Features beam weapon technology derived from the stolen EA units. Comparable in performance to the GAT-X prototype stolen units. ***ZGMF-601R GuAIZ R - Updated version of the GuAIZ, rolled out after the war. Superior in armament, but has reduced thrust and simplified controls compared to the original GuAIZ. Providence The ZGMF-X13A Providence is equipped with the DRAGOON system for controlling remote weapon pods. Piloted by Rau Le Creuset, critically damaged by Freedom and then destroyed by GENESIS. Others Strike Dagger GAT-01 Strike Dagger Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny Protagonists Impulse The ZGMF-X56S Impulse was designed simultaneously with ZAFT's new battleship Minerva and initially piloted by Shinn Asuka, who was selected personally by PLANT Supreme Council Chairman Gilbert Dullindal. Shinn performs very well with Impulse, destroying over a dozen enemy warships, numerous mobile suits, and the stolen Abyss. He even manages to defeat the Freedom. After he receives the new Destiny, Impulse is reassigned to Lunamaria Hawke. Lunamaria first pilots the Impulse during Operation Ragnarök, the invasion of Heaven's Base in Iceland, where it assists Shinn's Destiny and Rey's Legend in defeating the base's GFAS-X1 Destroy squad. Impulse is heavily damaged at the end of the Second Bloody Valentine War in the battle near Mobile Fortress Messiah by Athrun Zala's Infinite Justice, however to its ability to regenerate proves its survival. *ZGMF-X56S Impulse - Composed by the Core Splendor, the Chest Flyer and the Leg Flyer, can dock mid-air into a mobile suit form. It relies on battery power that can be remotely replenished by its mother ship. Its armament includes 2 chest-mounted CIWS, 1 high-energy beam rifle, 1 mobile shield, and 2 "Folding Razor" knives. The Impulse is piloted by Shinn Asuka, and later by Lunamaria Hawke when Shinn obtained ZGMF-X42S Destiny. Three more units would later be fielded by ZAFT and equipped with the Destiny Silhouette. Unlike the unit aboard the Minerva, these Impulse units did not feature Variable Phase Shift Armor. Like the earlier Strike, the Impulse can be equipped with additional packs called "Silhouettes." **ZGMF-X56S/α Force Impulse - High mobility configuration, analogous to the Aile Strike, but capable of atmospheric flight. **ZGMF-X56S/β Sword Impulse - Analogous to the Sword Strike, and similar to the GAT-X133 Sword Calamity; equipped with anti-warship swords and beam boomerangs. Besides being equipped with the standard armament of the ZGMF-X56S Impulse (chest-mounted CIWS guns, anti-armor knifes, mobile shield, beam rifle), the Sword Impulse uses the β Sword Silhouette pack, which grants the suit access to two large anti-ship swords and two beam boomerangs. **ZGMF-X56S/γ Blast Impulse - Analogous to the Launcher Strike, and similar to the ; equipped with beam cannons, railguns, and beam javelins.Besides being equipped with the standard armament of the ZGMF-X56S Impulse (chest-mounted CIWS guns, anti-armor knifes, mobile shield, beam rifle), the Blast Impulse uses the γ Blast Silhouette pack, which grants the suit access to two powerful long range beam cannons, two rail cannons, two missile launchers and two beam javelins. Inside Earth's gravity, the Blast Silhouette prevents the Impulse from flying, although it can hover over water. **ZGMF-X56S/δ Chaos Impulse - Uses Silhouette and specialized Leg Flyer to duplicate the abilities of the ZGMF-X24S Chaos. **ZGMF-X56S/ε Abyss Impulse - Uses Silhouette and specialized Leg Flyer to duplicate the abilities of the ZGMF-X31S Abyss. **ZGMF-X56S/ζ Gaia Impulse - Uses Silhouette and specialized Leg Flyer to duplicate the abilities of the ZGMF-X88S Gaia. DOM Trooper The ZGMF-XX09T DOM Trooper is a prototype series of mobile suits developed by ZAFT which never saw mass production. At least three DOM Troopers were built by ZAFT, however they were stolen by Clyne faction and taken to the asteroid factory where they were completed and modified with enhanced equipment and armament. Assigned to the Eternal and piloted by Hilda Harken (team leader, pilot of unit 003), Herbert Von Reinhardt (pilot of unit 004), and Mars Simeon (pilot of unit 009). Unit 003 is damaged at the end of the Second Bloody Valentine War. Infinite Justice ZGMF-X19A Infinite Justice Strike Freedom The ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom along with its companion and counterpart mobile suit unit, the Infinite Justice, is one of the most advanced mobile suits in the Cosmic Era during the Second Bloody Valentine War. The Strike Freedom made its debut on CE 74 when Kira boards the Eternal in the MBF-P02+AQM/E-X01 Aile Strike Rouge and then launches in the Strike Freedom to defend the ship from a ZAFT attack force. Kira with the Strike Freedom successfully disabled 25 ZAKUs and GOUFs in total, within two minutes, and then also disabled three Nazca class destroyers. This decisively turns tide of battle and ends the ZAFT attacks. When it arrives on Earth during ZAFT's Invasion of Orb, it immediately confronts the ZGMF-X42S Destiny, piloted by Shinn Asuka, saving the ORB-01 Akatsuki (piloted by Kira's twin sister, Cagalli Yula Athha) by destroying the two beam boomerangs about to slice it apart. The initial clash between the two suits proved somewhat inconclusive as neither unit was able to cause any major damage to the other, let alone gain the upper hand. The Destiny is then ordered to retreat by Rey Za Burrel to rearm and resupply (Note also Destiny's energy is also depleted on TV series episode, while the OVA does not display the energy depletion event) . When the Destiny returns, it is accompanied by Rey Za Burrel in the Legend. The Strike Freedom gains an opening and takes aim at a disoriented and vulnerable Destiny, preparing to fire. The Legend saves it at the last minute. Together both units manage to give the Destiny an opportunity to heavily damage the Strike Freedom. Athrun Zala in the Infinite Justice arrives on the scene at that moment saving Kira however, stopping the attack before either side manages to damage the other. For the remainder of this battle, which is not long, the Strike Freedom engages the Legend in which neither gains an advantage or damages the other until they are nearing the end of the battle. The Strike Freedom plays a pivotal role in ending the Second Bloody Valentine War soon afterwards. Strike Freedom and the Infinite Justice, both equipped with the METEOR mobile weapons platform, destroy an important relay station that was to be used by the Requiem tactical cannon, which was under ZAFT control. After accomplishing this goal, the Strike Freedom, without METEOR, engages the Destiny once again, this time able to fully utilize its DRAGOONs and thrusters, which prove to be an important addition to the battle against Shinn. Kira is able to once again disable Destiny before the Legend saves it again. It then engages the Legend and heavily damages it. Later in the same episode, the suit docks with the METEOR once more and then heads to the mobile fortress Messiah and heavily damages it, which leads to its destruction and the subsequent end of the Second Bloody Valentine War. Antagonists Abyss The ZGMF-X31S Abyss is equipped with powerful beam weapons, can transform into a mobile armor used for underwater combat. Stolen by EA. Destroyed by ZGMF-X56S/γ Blast Impulse. Piloted by Auel Neider, an Extended pilot. Chaos The ZGMF-X24S Chaos is a specialized for assault in space, it transforms into a mobile armor used for space combat, its main arament is a pair of detachable remote weapon pods. Stolen by EA. Piloted by Sting Oakley, an Extended pilot. Destroyed by three Orb Union MVF-M11C Murasame mobile suits. Gaia The ZGMF-X88S Gaia is capable of transforming into a 4-legged mobile armor used for terrestrial combat. Stolen by Earth Alliance, piloted by Stella Loussier. Later recovered by ZAFT. Later in the war, it was captured by Terminal and piloted by Andrew Waltfeld in its original colors. Destroy The GFAS-X1 Destroy is a giant, heavily armed transformable mobile armor, armed with numerous beam cannons and missile launchers, and protected by postitron reflector shields. Destroy's power is such that it is considered a strategic, rather than tactical, weapon. A total of at least nine Destroy units are built. One is piloted by Extended pilot Stella Loussier, and is destroyed by Kira Yamato's Freedom in battle over Berlin. Another is piloted by Sting Oakley, and is destroyed by Shinn Asuka's Destiny in the battle over Heaven's Base. The other Destroy units were also destroyed during the battles at Heaven's Base and the Daedalus moon base. Saviour The ZGMF-X23S Saviour can transform into a mobile armor for aerial combat with extra speed and mobility. Appears to be derived from the GAT-X303 Aegis. Piloted by Athrun Zala while in ZAFT's elite division, FAITH. Destroyed by in the Battle of Crete. Euclid The TS-MB1B Euclid is a mass-produced flight-capable mobile armor. Armed with two beam cannons and two Gatling guns. Fielded in defense of . Capable of both Earth and Space combat. Gells-Ghe The YMAG-X7F Gells-Ghe is a dase-defense mobile armor with many similarities to the YMAF-X6BD Zamza-Zah mobile armor, but ground-based. It needs three pilots to operate it and also has a positron reflector. The lower body is spider-like, and the upper body is a heavily modified Dagger torso. One unit was defeated by ZGMF-X23S Saviour. Destiny The ZGMF-X42S Destiny is ZAFT's newest and most advanced mobile suit. Equipped with a hyper-deuterion nuclear reactor, Wings of Light system, and armament based on all three Silhouettes of the Impulse. Was heavily damaged by Athrun Zala and his Infinite Justice. Piloted by Shinn Asuka. Others ZAKU Warrior The ZGMF-1000 ZAKU Warrior is a mass-production mobile suit, developed after the Bloody Valentine War as the main mobile suit production line under the "New Millennium Series" project. It is equipped with a beam assault rifle and a beam axe. All ZAKU units can mount different expansion packs, called "Wizards", that allow for different combat configurations: *ZGMF-1000/A1 Gunner ZAKU Warrior - Artillery Wizard, contains a high energy, long-range beam cannon, the M1500 Orthros, and a high-capacity energy tank. *ZGMF-1000/K Slash ZAKU Warrior - Close-range combat Wizard, sports a large beam axe and shoulder-mounted beam gatling guns. *ZGMF-1000/M Blaze ZAKU Warrior - High-mobility combat Wizard, its backpack carries a pair of high-count missile pods. *ZGMF-1000/AAL Noctiluca ZAKU Warrior - Amphibious assault landing version of the ZAKU Warrior, capable of skimming along the ocean surface at high speed and armed with torpedoes and depth charges. Uses modified feet, shoulders, and head, as well as the Noctiluna Wizard. *ZGM-1000/R4 Command ZAKU CCI - An unarmed ZAKU Warrior used for battlefield command and control. Shoulder shield is replaced by a large parabolic antenna and beam rifle with an "antenna rifle", and mounts the antenna-laden Command Wizard. Typically escorted by two standard ZAKU Warriors. ZAKU Phantom The ZGMF-1001 ZAKU Phantom is the high-end version of the ZAKU Warrior, a commander class unit. It is equipped with the same beam assault rifle as the ZAKU Warrior, but carries two beam axes and two shields. The ZAKU Phantom mounts the same Wizard units as the ZAKU Warrior. GOUF Ignited *ZGMF-X2000 GOUF Ignited - Derived from the ZAKU series, the GOUF (Guardian of Unity Forerunner) Ignited is armed with two tentacle-like heat rods inside its forearms, a double-edged beam sword, and two 4-barrel beam guns on its forearms. Piloted by Heine Westenfluss, is destroyed in its first battle on Earth by ZGMF-X88S Gaia. **ZGMF-2000 GOUF Ignited - Production model of the ZGMF-X2000 GOUF Ignited, for use by squad leaders and aces. Indistinquishable from the prototype, aside from the blue and black color scheme. During the Battle of Messiah, Yzak Joule pliots his white custom GOUG Ignited to assist the destruction of the Requiem Supercannon. Akatsuki The ORB-01 Akatsuki is a mobile suit commissioned by Cagalli's father, Uzumi Nara Athha for her before his death. It is the only mobile suit produced with the ORB designation. It also sports a unique, bright gold color scheme which generally relates to the definition of Akatsuki in English, meaning "dawn." Its profound ability to reflect or neutralize beam weapons on account of the "Yata-no-Kagami" which is coated on its armour, also in addition, the Akatsuki is equipped with a DRAGOON system that can be used by a natural or coodinator and has the ability to project a energy shield around its self and others. Given to Mu La Flaga just before the Battle of the Messiah. Mu uses it in an attempt to block a positron cannon blast from the Minerva. With the Akatsuki, he succeeded in deflecting the attack. In model kit packaging, the Akatsuki is labeled as the "Akatsuki Gundam." Murasame * MVF-M11C Murasame - Mass-production mobile suit, capable of transforming into a fighter jet-like flight mode. Armed with a beam rifle and beam saber, plus a beam gun, missiles and four machine guns in flight mode. Murasames have been piloted by Andrew Waltfeld and Ledonir Kisaka. Later heavily damaged by the ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom and was in the Messiah when the fortress was destroyed. Side stories Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Astray Astray Gold Frame MBF-P01 Astray Gold Frame Astray Red Frame MBF-P02 Astray Red Frame Astray Blue Frame MBF-P03 Astray Blue Frame Astray The Astray series mobile suits are a series of light mobile suits built by the Orb Union during the Bloody Valentine War. enefiting from the Earth Alliance's G Project research, the Astrays copy most of the major features of the Gundam mobile suits except for Phase Shift armor, which Orb cannot duplicate by observation. The prototype models were the MBF-P01 Astray Gold Frame, , and . The MBF-M1 M1 Astray is an all-purpose, all-environment mobile suit, suitable for use on Earth or in space. To increase mobility, the M1 Astrays are fitted with a fixed "flight pack" The M1 Astray was in testing, but little progress was made until Kira Yamato assisted in creating a Natural-use operating system. Later, there is an advanced, space-optimized version of the Astray, called the MBF-M1A M1A Astray which has extra vernier thrusters for enhanced space maneuverability and has a better atmospheric seal. Its weaker legs mean that it cannot be used for ground combat. It can also use a large beam sniper rifle, in the place of the M1 Astray's smaller rifle. Most M1A Astrays are operated by the Sakahu family. In CE 73, the successor to the Astray series, the MVF-M11C Murasame is fielded. The Murasame is largely similar in armament, but is capable of transforming into a jet fighter for aerial combat. In addition, some of the older M1 Astrays are fitted with the "EF-24R Flight Rotor Shrike", which mounts on the existing flight pack for improved aerial capabilities. Independent of Orb, Junk Guild technician Yoon Sefan (who was formerly employed by Orb in the Astray project) develops an unarmed variant, the MWF-JG71 Raysta, after escaping the EA invasion of Orb. The name "Raysta" is an anagram of "Astray", indicating the design's lineage. In late CE 71, the Junk Guild begins renting Raystas to civilians, on the condition that these mobile suits not be refitted with weapons or used for any violent purposes. However, when the Junk Guild's headquarters at GENESIS Alpha was attacked by Earth Alliance forces, several of the Guild's own Raystas were hastily equipped with bazookas and beam rifles to assist in the defense. Raystas were also used by the Deep Space Survey and Development Organization, but were later replaced by their own variant, the UT-1D DSSD Astray. The DSSD Astray was distinguishable by its helmet-like head with a transparent visor covering the faceplate (which contains multispectral high definition sensors used in fine construction and maintenance work in space), a non-military grade communications array housed in an integrated single aerial system situated in the back of the head, and a lightwave pulse thruster, the predecessor of Voiture Lumiere, on its backpack. Like the Raysta, the DSSD Astray was intended for non-combat duties, although they can be equipped a small beam rifle for self-defense. While the rifle is weaker than those used military mobile suits, its power consumption is also reduced. Hyperion CAT1-X Hyperion Dreadnought YMF-X000A Dreadnought Proto Chaos *XMF-P192P Proto Chaos - Prototype mobile armor from which the later ZGMF-X24S Chaos was derived. Resembles Chaos's mobile armor mode, but mounts an addition pair of remote weapon pods instead of arms. Regenerate The ZGMF-X11A Regenerate is the third model in the series, after Freedom and Justice, also equipped with the N-Jammer Canceller. Massive and heavily armed, it is not compatible with the METEOR System. It can also transform into a mobile armour mode similar to the Aegis Gundam, with similar arnaments of 4 Beam Swords and a 1 Hyper Impulse Cannon; however, its size is a massive 35 meters tall, unmatched by anything else in the first Bloody Valentine War and not matched until the Earth Alliance's GFAS-X1 Destroy Gundam in C.E. 73.
