This is a list of writers and presenters who have regularly or notably commented on Doctor Who fiction. Canada In the 1970s Jim Dator, an academic at the University of Toronto, was hired by Canadian educational television network TVOntario to work on educational programming related to futurism. As part of his duties he filmed educational introductions and conclusions for Jon Pertwee-era episodes of Doctor Who aired by the channel. From 1978 to 1981 Judith Merril introduced Canadian broadcasts of Doctor Who. As "the Undoctor," Merril presented 3-7 minute philosophical commentaries on the show's themes. Robert Shearman, who wrote the 2005 episode "Dalek" and several Doctor Who audio plays, and comedian Toby Hadoke recorded a commentary on every episode of Doctor Who from 1963 to 2009. The resulting discussions are being published by Mad Norwegian Press in three volumes as Running Through Corridors: Rob and Toby's Marathon Watch of Doctor Who.
