In 2010, Loyalist named Kirbie as its nominee for the prestigious Premier's Award, as one of Ontario's Outstanding College Graduates. Politics Kirbie has worked for many politicians, most recently in former Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff's office. In 2006 she was an organizer on the Ignatieff leadership campaign. In 2012/2013 Kirbie was one of the key strategists in Sandra Pupatello's leadership campaign for the Ontario Liberal Party leadership. Ornge From March 2010 until July 2012, Kirbie was the director of government relations for Ornge, Ontario's scandal-plagued air ambulance program. Kirbie recently revealed that she was a whistleblower and went to the authorities with her suspicions of wrongdoing at Ornge in the fall of 2010. In early November 2012, numerous media outlets published articles detailing a lawsuit Kirbie brought against Ornge, alleging that she was sexually harassed, bullied and dismissed because of her whistleblowing activities. Former Ornge CEO Chris Mazza and his representatives denied the allegations. In a post on her blog Kirbie responded that the statements made by Mazza and his representatives "are preposterous but are a perfect example of what it was like to work at Ornge under its former leadership."
