Light-core Building is a form of modern architecture. The defining feature of a "Light-core" Building is that the core of the building possesses a bright "daylight center". Due to the existence of such "daylight center", each floor of the building will have an open-sky like daylight background coupled with true sunlight radiation. The significance of the concept is that buildings no longer depend solely on external surface structures such as windows and/or fascias as the main daylight source. Instead, a "Light-core" Building will have daylight distributed from its "core" area where "daylight centers" lie. Such concept makes old building daylighting standard insufficient and makes new designs (such as ultra-deep plan buildings) possible.
