Life in Frames

Life in Frames is a studio album by Chokamkuru Langneh released on 11 September 2021. The album was recorded between early 2020 and mid 2021 following the success of Langneh's hit single "Rong-Aje" back in 2019 and a moderate success of "Good Old Days" in 2020. The album was promoted in early 2021 with songs like "" though it later made it to the album becoming the lead single of the album. "Good Old Days" was written in 2020 while the others were written and recorded in 2021. Most of the songs were recorded at Tomo Studio, Diphu. "Good Old Days" was recorded and produced at Jam Studio 11, Dimapur by Temjen Jamir of Polar Lights.
Influence and sound
Life in Frames is an indie album with songs varying in genres from alt-rock, indie-pop to J-rock type music and indie-rock and hip-hop/R&B.<ref name":0" /> The tracks clearly draw inspiration from bands like Coldplay, Maroon 5 and artists like Ed Sheeran. Langneh also cited Owl City and Kana-Boon to be artists to influence his album.<ref name":1" />
Songs and lyrics
"You Wouldn't Know" is "Much like a background score you’d hear in a cafe around the corner"<ref name":0" /> with a simple four chord progression throughout the song. The song is heavily reminiscent of Maroon 5's "Payphone" with simple yet elegant melodies. The lyrics talk about unrequited love according to Langneh as he opened up about having gone through a similar situation in an interview.<ref name":1" /> The song features a rap verse from 9aaangrik in the deluxe edition of the album adding a Hip hop, Rhythm and blues feel to it. "Good Old Days" is a "Welcome extension for people who haven't had enough of the nostalgic feeling"<ref name":0" /> with lyrics about getting back to doing the things people love. "A Head Stacked with Dreams" is "something that catches you off guard and makes you smile".<ref name":0" /> An alt-rock song with guitar hooks like those of Coldplay<ref name=":0" /> with lyrics about chasing dreams, the song is one of the more unique tracks on the album.
Promotion and touring
Langneh planned on going for a Northeast India tour to promote songs from the album but later cancelled it due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in India.<ref name=":1" /> The songs were promoted digitally with "You Wouldn't Know" being the most promoted one of all the tracks on the album.
Critical reception
Life in Frames got a 3.5/5 rating in a review by A Humming Heart magazine.<ref name":0" /> KarbiAnglong Today also wrote positively about "You Wouldn't Know" before an interview.<ref name":1" />
