Leslie Hoffman born in the Adirondack Hamlet of Saranac Lake, New York, is a distinguished Stuntwoman and the first Stuntwoman to be elected to the Hollywood Board of Directors of SAG (1981-1985), as well as the first Stuntwoman elected to the AFTRA Local Board and AFTRA National Board. In recent years, she has suffered from Post Concussion Syndrome (which include lack of sleep, aches, depression and a finally a nervous breakdown), major back and neck problems, and other disabilities as a result of thirty years of performing stunts. She has been blacklisted by SAG since 1981 for being a woman in a profession noted for its male participants. Leslie has fought for the rights to all stuntpeople, which includes men, women, people of color and independent stuntpeople, which caused her to be blacklisted from day one. Edward Asner, an actor and liberal activist (best known for playing Lou Grant), was President of SAG from 1981-1985 and did little to help Leslie at all. Leslie's stunt career dates back to 1976 with Two-Minute Warning, her first union job that she got after joining SAG. She has also performed stunts in , , CHiPS, Charlie's Angels, Remington Steele, and . She is possibly most famous, with cult horror fans, for the small part of Freddy Krueger's incarnation as a school hall monitor in Wes Craven's 1984 horror classic A Nightmare on Elm Street. She is also best known playing the stunt double of Queen Elizabeth II in The Naked Gun. Leslie has also been a staple of the Star Trek community. She has been Stunt Coordinator for Star Trek: New Voyages/Phase 5 episodes and Starship Farragut, a Star Trek fan film. Currently, Leslie Hoffman has received a "Right to Sue" SAG for discrimination from the Federal EEOC, and has a lawsuit against the Producer-SAG Health Plan under the ERISA Act (Employee Retirement Security Act). Currently, she has been paying for her Health Plan, RX Plan and Dental insurance from different companies while waiting for the result of the ERISA Lawsuit.
