Leo George Blair (born 20 May, 2000) is the youngest son of Tony Blair, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and his wife Cherie Blair. He is named after . He was born at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London. Prior to his birth there was much speculation in the media that he would be born via elective caesarian section, in part due to Cherie's previous caesarian and in part due to Cherie's age. In fact he was born naturally after a 12 hour labour, weighing 6lb 12oz. He is a baptised Roman Catholic. Leo Blair was the first legitimate child to be born to a serving Prime Minister since Francis Albert Rollo Russell was born to Lord John Russell on 11 July, 1849. The Blairs have been very conscious to shield Leo from media scrutiny. Tony Blair has refused to confirm whether Leo has received the MMR vaccine, a controversial issue in the United Kingdom. The first official photos of Leo were taken by close family friend Mary McCartney. Despite the Blairs' desire to shield Leo from publicity, photos of Leo have been published with some famous faces including Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother and Jacques Chirac, the former President of France. In January 2006 it was revealed that police were aware of a suggested plot by former members of Fathers 4 Justice to kidnap Leo in order to highlight their cause. However, no kidnapping took place, and Downing Street and the police officially refused to confirm or deny the story. Fathers 4 Justice disbanded as a result of the negative publicity surrounding this revelation. As of September 2011 he attends the Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School in London
