The Legends Drum and Bugle Corps is an Open Class DCI drum and bugle corps based in Kalamazoo, MI. 2008 became their first year as an Open Class Corps, performing their show entitled "Evolutional Procuratio" at Drum Corps International competitions across the U.S. and in Canada, and a Drum Corps International Open Class Semifinals performance with a score of 82.000. History For Legends Winterline 2001 Legends was founded in 2001, starting with the name "Portage Central Brass and Percussion Ensemble." The primary focus of this group was to provide an instruction based performance ensemble in the areas of brass and rudimental percussion, with 2-3 rehearsals per week. Festive Overture, arr. Scott Boerma, adapted by Ibe Sodawalla Brass: Ibe Sodawalla, Jeremy Wissner Percussion: Landon Ewers, Jason Lundgren, Jeff Link 2005 Ibe Sodawalla arranged for the ensemble and turned the brass reigns over to Jeremy Wissner. New percussion staff were added in both areas of battery and front ensemble. Members were from Portage Central High School and Middle School programs. The ensemble had 2 rehearsals per week at 2-3 hours per rehearsal at Portage Central High School. Hedwig Theme and Nimbus 2000, arr. Ibe Sodawalla, Mark Guthrie, Alvin King Leaving Hogwarts, arr. Scott Boerma, adapted by Ibe Sodawalla Brass: Jeremy Wissner Percussion: Mark Guthrie, Alvin King Admin: Pat and Rennee Flynn 2006 The group grew in size with the recruiting of members from Portage Central High School, Portage Central Middle School, Parchment High School, Vicksburg High School, Vicksburg Middle School, and Schoolcraft High School. Scott Boerma, adapted by Ibe Sodawalla Brass: Jeremy Wissner, Ibe Sodawalla Percussion: Mark Guthrie, Alvin King Admin: Pat and Rennee Flynn 2006 - Summer Experience In the summer of 2006, Legends started its summer experience, traveling across the eastern U.S. and becoming know in the world of Drum Corps International.
