Legal Reins

Legal Reins was formed in 1985 in Oakland California. Lead song writer and singer, Danny Benatar, teamed with drummer/singer Tim Freund in 1985. Bassist/singer Eden Unger joined in 1986 and they formed Legal Reins. Some of their earliest demos were produced by Matt Wallace (Faith No More, Sheryl Crow, Maroon 5, The Replacements, John Haitt, Train). Local popularity brought the attention of San Francisco record executive Howie Klein (Sire Records, Reprise Records) and producer Sandy Perlman (The Clash, Blue Oyster Cult). Ultimately Legal Reins were signed to Arista Records in 1987 by A & R executive Randy Gersten and music legend Clive Davis. Legal Reins debut and only record, Please The Pleasure (1989), was produced by Tim Palmer (Robert Plant, The Mission). Songs included Wait For Fire Burning and Jealous Rage. The band broke up in fall 1989.
