Laurence B. Brown

Laurence Bunting Brown (born 1959) is an American Muslim ophthalmologist and author of both non-fiction and fictional works.
Early life
Brown acquired his BA at Cornell University and his MD from Brown University Medical School, and received residency training as an opthamologist at George Washington University Hospital. He worked as an ophthalmologist in the US Air Force for eight years. He became a Muslim in April 1994 and is described by the Saudi Gazette as "a well-known convert to Islam." Brown subsequently wrote two books, MisGod’ed and God’ed, which are critical of Judeo-Christian theology and supportive of Islam.
Brown states that as a result of his conversion he was disowned by his parents, lost his home and most of his property, and was divorced by his wife, but he has since re-married and now works as a medical director and eye surgeon in his new home of Medina, Saudi Arabia.
