G. Richard Moore

G. Richard Moore (born January 22, 1948) is an American novelist who writes historical fiction.

G. Richard Moore, the eldest of four siblings, was born in Cleveland, Ohio. His father worked for an iron foundry after serving as a fighter pilot in World War II; his mother worked in banking. Moore worked for two major corporations in systems programming, marketing technical support, and project management before becoming an author.

While in high school, Moore wrote short stories that captured the attention of his English teacher. In 1971 Moore received a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering degree from Kettering University, where he had been a cartoonist for the college newspaper. He also studied writing at Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Moore married his high school sweetheart, and they lived in Ohio, Massachusetts, and Atlanta, Georgia, where they raised a daughter and son. His first wife secretly suffered from schizophrenia. They were divorced after the children had left home. Moore also had a brief second marriage.
