Laura Lee-Conboy is a radio presenter on Alternative Station Phantom 105.2. She presents Spiral Stares, one of the stream of specialist shows that Phantom 105.2 airs and is sponsored by Budrising from Budweiser.
A native of Longford. Laura Attended Scoil Mhuire Convent of Mercy from 1998 to 2003. She then attended Ballyfermot College further Education, where she studied for her diploma in Radio Production and her BA Hons Degree in Media Production and Management. She graduated in 2006.
Laura (also known as Laura Lee) became involved in radio from a very early age. Her father and uncle were involved in pirate radio stations in the midlands of Ireland in the 1980s. She was used to being surrounded by radio equipment.
In 2003 Lee-Conboy moved to Dublin, where she joined the Phantom team, who at the time were broadcasting on their first temporary licence on weekends only. Phantom ceases broadcasting after their second temporary licence and applied for a full time broadcasting licence from the BCI. This resulted in court proceedings that took longer than expected.
In between this time, Lee-Conboy gained lots of other experience in the industry. She was regularly a guest on 2FM Dave Fanning's show. Then moving on to 98FM, where she worked with the Irish talented Psychic Una Power. After a month or so working on the Una Power, she took up position as Broadcast Assistant on 98FM's 'Late Night Talk', with Tom Brannigan. in 2006 she then went to work for Shannonside Northern Sound (which is located in Longford and owned by Radio Kerry)where she took on the role of weekend Production Manager. However she left SSNS to return to Phantom 105.2 on October 31 2006, the Day Phantom started broadcasting legally with a full time broadcast licence.
She currently Presents Spiral Stares which is on air Wednesdays from 20:00PM to 22:00PM. She also works as the Advertising Traffic Manager for Phantom 105.2
