Laura Gassner Otting

Laura Gassner Otting is an author, speaker, and nonprofit strategist who has been influential in the NGO leadership and innovation space.
She began her career as a Presidential Appointee in White House and was instrumental in shaping AmeriCorps, the voluntary civil society program supported by the U.S. federal government. She was Founder & CEO of Nonprofit Professionals Advisory Group. She also served on Hillary Clinton's National Finance Committee. During that time, she spoke at TEDxCambridge, which helped launch her speaking career.
Otting's philanthropic efforts include helping build a local Montessori school, co-founding a women's philanthropic initiative, advising a start-up national women's PAC, and growing a citizen-leadership development program.
Her most recent book, Limitless: How to Ignore Everybody, Carve Your Own Path, and Live Your Best Life (2019), is a Washington Post bestseller.
Education
Otting graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1991. She earned her Master of Arts in Political Management from George Washington University in 1996.
