Dr Ropate Rakuita Qalo

Dr Ropate Rakuita Qalo was an author and editor from Fiji, and associate professor in Sociology at the for 30 years. He wrote multiple books, chapters and articles on politics, entrepreneurship, and climate change, including his famous book "Small business : a study of a Fijian family : the Mucunabitu Iron Works Contractor Cooperative Society Limited", highlighting the achievements of indigenous entrepreneurs. His book got good reviews from the fellow academics.
Education
He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of the South Pacific, his master’s degree from the University of Birmingham, UK and then a PhD from the Australian National University<ref name=":0" />.
Professional Life
Dr Qalo worked at the Institute of Social and Administrative Services (ISAS) of the University of the South Pacific for several years at the start of his career. Then he worked in the Department of Sociology from 1994 until retirement as Associate Professor in Sociology.<ref name=":0" />
