Latitude and longitude definition

Longitude and Latitude are angles from a standard location. The map lines are named Meridian (North-South) and Circles of latitude (East-West). Following a meridian at 0 degrees N-S, through Greenwich GMT, follows all positions having 0 degrees Longitude. Following a circle of latitude along the Equator E-W follows all positions have 0 degrees Latitude.
