HOPErevo
Heide started her online "hope revolution" after finding a random note in a coffeeshop, described as "a hateful tirade directed at anyone who might be compassionate towards the homeless". Near the shop, crowds and news trucks were gathering outside the loft where Heath Ledger had been found dead.
She decided to write a positive note, and stuck it back where she had found the negative one. She continued writing "hope notes" and leaving them in random places in New York City. She then wrote about it on her blog and inadvertently inspired others who heard about it to do the same in their cities.
She later established a blog and Flickr group for the project. As a result, "hope notes" and the "hope revolution" were found and documented around the country including thousands of notes with Kinyarwandan phrases, created by members of the online community, mailed to Heide, and hand delivered by a friend to a small village of genocide survivors in Rwanda.
