Amber Freda

Amber Freda is a New York City landscape designer who specializes in design, installation, and maintenance of a variety of urban garden projects. She has a modern design sense and uses lush plantings on roof gardens, terraces, brownstones, courtyards, living walls, and other small space gardens. She also creates more traditional in-ground garden spaces and flowerbeds for some suburban spaces as well.
Design
Freda designs all aspects of a garden project, including plants, planters, custom masonry, custom carpentry, arbors and pergolas, fencing, patios, decks, irrigation and lighting systems, furnishings, and decorative elements. Freda also writes the popular newsletter and blog, The Gotham Gardener, with tips, advice, and project studies for people interested in urban gardening and with special emphasis on the New York City area. She has taught dozens of classes in urban gardening at The New York Botanical Garden, and she is a regular contributor of online gardening columns and is listed as an Expert Author on the Ezine Articles website.
Awards
Her firm was voted "Best in New York" in 2006 by Shecky's Guides to New York City.
Freda's work has been the feature of stories on The CBS Morning News program, The Associated Press, Daily Candy, Gardening How-To , The Coastal Gardener, and People, Places, and Plants magazine.
