Komala ITC and Technical Institute is situated in Kottakkal, the famous city of Ayurveda, in Malappuram District of Kerala state, India. Komala Institutions were established in the year 1989. The group of institutions include Komala Industrial Training Centre (ITC), Komala Technical Institute, School of Electronics, Chekkutty Memorial AMLP School and Komala Communications. Komala Technical Institute is recognized by Government of Kerala in the year 1990. Main subject in the institute is Electronics and Television Engineering. Other short term technical such as AC Technician and computer courses are also offered at the institute. Komala ITC is affiliated to the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), DGE&T, Government of India with effect from 2008. Approved Trades are Draughtsman (Civil) and Health Sanitary Inspector. Draughtsman (Civil) trade is of Two year duration and Health Sanitary Inspector trade is of One Year duration. The name “Komala” is a memorial to the erstwhile Malayalam language text book “Komala Padavali” which was edited and published by Mr. Odayappurath Chekkutty Master at “Komala Printing and Publishing Company, Kottakkal”. Komala Institutions were established in the year 1989 by Mr. O.Faizal Abdulla, grandson of Odayappurath Chekkutty Master.
