Kole Black

Kole Black (born January 1, 1980 in Cincinnati, Ohio) is an African American author who writes under the Spaulden Publishing label. He is the author of two novels, The Chance She Took and The Risk of Chance.
Black is also a weekly syndicated news columnist. His column appears in The Cincinnati-Defender, L.A Publisher's Weekly, and a variety of other mainstream publications. The column answers questions from individuals looking for advice on their most personal problems, usually related to some sort of sensitive (sexual or relationship) issue.
The Chance She Took
Black's first novel, The Chance She Took, was released on March 4, 2007, ISBN 0615153488 published by Spaulden Publishing. The Chance She Took tells the story of a young girl that grows up in an abusive home, and turns to the streets as means of escape. Through many pitfalls and bad experiences with thug love, this girl soon gets her life back on track, and meets the man of her dreams (a wealthy artist named Evan Chance). But her dream soon turns into a nightmare when an old friend returns to threaten everything that she holds dear.
The Risk of Chance
Black second novel, The Risk of Chance, ISBN 978-0-6152-1505-1 was released on Tuesday May 26, 2008. It is an African American drama/romance novel set in the streets of Miami, Florida's Liberty City. Written in 2008, The Risk of Chance tells the story of a naive preacher's daughter who grows up seeing the world through the rose colored glasses of the church, until she begins to come of age, and realizes that her whole life has been a complete lie. That's when she falls into the arms of a mysterious stranger named Evan Chance, whose secret past threatens to turn her world inside out.
