Kohei Kamikawa

Kohei Kamikawa (born August 03, 1991), currently a first year Music Performance student at the University of Toronto is one of the finest and youngest locally-renowned Japanese Euphonium players.
Life and Career
Kamikawa began his musical career after his acceptance into the Arts York program of Unionville High School, where he studied under the direction of Jeff Wrigglesworth, Dennis Beck, Larry Beckwith, and Bob Leonard.
In his 4 years of high school, Kamikawa has involved himself thoroughly in the variety of musical opportunities offered at Unionville High School, including its award-winning Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band, its Jazz/Stage Band, and its annual-production SHOWTIME pit orchestra. Kamikawa was also formerly a member of the locally renowned Unionville High School Jazz All-Stars, in which he played the piano. Kamikawa is also a capable trombone, trumpet, tuba and cello player. His instrument of choice is a Besson BE2051 Euphonium.
After Kamikawa's acceptance into the University of Toronto, he has performed regularly with the Hannaford Street Silver Band and the Yellow Brass Quintet.
