KnowHow NonProfit

KnowHow NonProfit is part of the Cass Business School Centre for Charity Effectiveness and is currently funded by a Big Lottery Fund Grant to the City Centre for Charity Effectiveness Trust Limited.
KnowHow NonProfit has been created to improve the efficiency of non profit organisations by increasing the knowledge and skills of people working in the non-profit sector - especially those that are new to training or come from 'hard-to-reach' groups. The portfolio of knowledge sharing resources provides expert content for those working in the third sector on anything from fundraising to managing volunteeers in organisations.
Free materials on the KnowHow NonProfit website include guidance and discussion forums on 28 different areas of running non-profit organizations, a calendar for charity events and regular podcasts from key people in the non-profit sector.
Online Community
Since launching in 2009 KnowHow NonProfit has developed an active online community of individuals working in the non-profit sector who share expertise and ideas through discussion forums, with over 4000 registered members. Community members share advice on their day to day jobs as well as ideas about fundraising and other aspects of the non-profit sector.
Multimedia - 'Voices from the sector'
'Voices from the sector' brings you opinions and advice from voluntary sector thought leaders and MPs, including Nick Hurd MP, Richard Branson, Stephen Bubb, Stuart Etherington and Martha Lane Fox.
Millcaster Tales
Millcaster Tales was initially launched in February 2009 as a series of illustrated text stories hosted by knowhownonprofit.org. The soap opera tells the story of a small town's non profit organisations and the people who work there.
Each episode of Millcaster Tales features a moral story based on real-life situations experienced by voluntary organisations.
Recently, working with a team of BBC voices, RADA trained actors and the screen writer of the well known police drama The Bill, Millcaster Tales has been launched as an animated audio play.
