King City Public School

King City Public School is a school in King City, Ontario, in Canada serving students from junior kindergarten to grade eight in two campuses. The Eva L. Dennis Building is used to teach students up to grade three, and students from grade four to eight are taught at the King Campus. King City Public School is administered by the York Region District School Board, and its current principal is Karen Goan.
The school was opened in 1966, and the King Campus was demolished in 2008 so that a new school could be built at the same site. As a result, grade four students were taught at the Eva L. Dennis Building for the 2008-2009 school year, and grades five to eight were taught at a segregated area of King City Secondary School.
The new King City Public School is larger than the original because it will house grades K-8. It will open in September 2009. Eva L. Dennis Public School, which currently houses grades K-4, will be demolished in the summer of 2009 and will not be rebuilt.
The school's mascot is a cobra and the school's colours are gold and green.
