Khalil Berro

Khalil Berro (born December 4, 2003, Lenzburg) is a Swiss artist and the founder of TIVE.
Early life and education
Khalil Berro was born and raised in Lenzburg, Switzerland. Since his mother was making soaps in her own studio, he grew up around the studio and artist life. This was also his first studio, and he used the space to store his paintings and painting material. His first exhibition was in his hometown Lenzburg together with the Kultur Kommission.
Berro graduated from the INVERS School of Art in June 2020 and is currently studying Interactive Media Design at the ETH Zürich and School of Art in Bern.
Artworks
In 2016 Berro started his series of abstracted creature paintings, including a version of these paintings called "42". Spray paint, acrylics, oil pastel and pencil, are all used in the making of this painting.
His 10-piece series called "Azureous", which refers to a certain shade of blue, is a series made in 2020. Berro only used oil pastel and white house-paint for these 70x70 cm paintings. It is smaller than most of his works, which usually measure at least 1.5 meters in height and width.
The "Black Butterfly Series" (started in 2019) is a series of black acrylic paintings on cotton canvas. He uses his hands and the motion of his body to paint the dark spots. At the same time it is one of his most expensive paintings, priced at $25,000.
Studio
Berro's studio is located in Lenzburg in the Wisa Gloria area.
