Kerry Clare

Kerry Clare (born 24 June 1979 ) is a Canadian author born in Peterborough, Ontario. Her debut novel Mitzi Bytes, "a grown-up Harriet the Spy for the digital age" will be published in March 2017. In 2007, she graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters of Arts in English and Creative Writing.
She is a National Magazine Award-nominated writer, and editor of the essay anthology, The M Word: Conversations About Motherhood, which was published by Goose Lane Editions in 2014. Her essay, "Love is a Let-Down," was published in Best Canadian Essays 2011, edited by Ibi Kaslik and Christopher Doda.
Her essays, short fiction and literary criticism have appeared in The Globe and Mail, Joyland: A hub for short fiction, The New Quarterly, Canadian Notes and Queries, Quill & Quire, , , Chatelaine, Open Letters Monthly, U of T Magazine, and The Toronto Star.
She teaches The Art of Blogging at the University of Toronto, edits the books website 49thShelf.com, and has written about books and reading at PickleMeThis.com since 2005.
