The Kempinski Hotel Moika 22 is a five-star luxury hotel in Saint Petersburg, Russia. It is located on the Moika Embankment, opposite the Palace Square, home of the world-famous Hermitage Museum. The hotel is housed in a Petersburg mansion, designed by the Dutch engineer Basil von Witte in 1853, during the reign of Tsar Nicholas I. The classical façade of the building has been faithfully retained, while the interior has been entirely reconstructed, and decorated with antiques of the period, to provide the ultimate in hotel accommodation. The Kempinski Hotel Moika 22 has 23 suites and 174 rooms. Like the hotel itself, suites are decorated in classical style, with fine antiques; they have been chosen in particular to evoke the grand traditions of St Petersburg, the former imperial capital of the Romanovs. The hotel is currently managed by the Kempinski Group.
