Kelsey Phelps Klein is a Californian winemaker and entrepreneur. She is a granddaughter of Napa wine pioneer Joseph Phelps. Personal life and education Phelps Klein grew up not knowing whether she would go into the family business. She studied urban studies at Stanford University, graduating in 2008. From 2013 to 2015, Phelps Klein practiced corporate law for the Silicon Valley-based firm Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. Wine career Phelps Klein left law practice in 2015 to join her family in the wine industry. She often represents Joseph Phelps Vineyards at wine auctions and events throughout the United States. In 2015, she founded her own company, Seppi Sparkling Wine, producing California-style sparkling wine. Phelps Klein's first vintage of Seppi was in 2017.
