Keely Mills

Keely Mills is the Poet Laureate for the City of Peterborough, in the UK, from December 2008 to December 2009
Keely Mills is the first person in the City of Peterborough to be commissioned to write a poem to be part of a public report.
The report is into the plans to re-generate the area known as Fletton
which is the first time a work of art has ever been commissioned to run alongside a planning proposal in the region
Childhood
Mills was born in Peterborough and lived in the village of Eye, on the edge of Peterborough.
Education
Mills studied Film Studies at Peterborough Regional College,
Moved to Bolton at 19 to study English and Drama
BA (Hons) in English, Creative Writing & Drama
Worked at the Globe Theatre, London

Speakeasy
Speakeasy is part of the Poetry Link tour, a monthly tour of a headline poet that visits five venues across East Anglia.
The Devils Punchbowl
A Halloween event that combines elaborate décor and costumes with an eclectic mix of Poetry, Cabaret, Burlesque, live bands, VJ's, and DJ's.
With former Poet Laureate Mark Grist , Keely will be creating a 'Writers Centre Peterborough' modelled on the Writers Centre Norwich and taking over the running of the Poetry Link tour when Luke Wright steps down in Dec 2009.
Keely was also 'Poet in Residence' at The Glass Onion Music & Arts Community Centre where she started 'Muddy Poetry'.
In June of 2009 she was asked to Open the newly built John Clare Cottage with Benjamin Zephania.
