Brown Aryan Race

Introduction
Throughout the modern age writes have pondered on the racial characteristics of the original Indo-Europeans.
Uncertainty of Scholars on Aryan Race
Several Eurocentric writers illustrated them as white-skinned. Other scholars had written that the original Indo-Europeans could have been either white-skinned or dark-skinned. For example, Norman Davies writes, "In the case of Eurasia, it is by no means clear whether the brown-skinned Indo-element exported their language to their paler ‘European’ neighbours, or vice-versa, or whether both adapted it from a third party." Further, Max Muller wrote that "The blue-eyed and fair-haired Scandinavians may have been conquerors or conquered, they may have adopted the language of their darker lords or their subjects, or vice versa." Scholar Nihon Gakujutsu Kaigi writes, "We do not know anything about the Aryan race. All that we know from India is that the Aryans were not a white people at all."
Proponents of a Brown-Aryan Race
A fair number of scholars have also described them as dark-skinned or non-white. For example, scholar Bernardo J. Correa says that the Aryans are a Brown people. T. S. Denison advocates that the primitive Aryans are (or were) reddish people. He quotes Mr. Widney writing, "The primitive Aryans were of light color, reddish or brown rather than black." John F. Arundell, E. Ryley and Henry Formby write, "The Aryan race, the same as our own, are olive-colored." In the paper “What is Aryan” by Sir George Campbell, K.O.S.I, the author writes:
:"The fairest Aryans are in north of Europe, but they are also not pure. Was the original Aryan white, or has he been blanched in the North ? I incline to think that he was light brown in his original state, and has been blacked and blanched in the South-east and North-west.”
Acceptance of Indo-Iranians as Brown Aryans
There were several people of Aryan or Indo-Iranian background who accepted that they are both Brown and Aryan. Hence, in the early 20th century, there was a group of "Brown Aryans" dedicated to fighting for an independent India.
